Rebrand and product design for the leading dating app for Muslim singles
Overview
In the 21st century, there’s no shame in online + app dating! However, it can still be challenging to meet someone you feel compatible with, and in a largely secular culture, it’s even harder to find someone who shares the same religious values. This is where the idea for Muzz (formerly Muzzmatch) was formed. Muzz pairs Muslim singles based on shared values and priorities with the goal of marriage. With over 4 million users and 25,000 marriages from Muzmatch, it is the place to go to find a halal partner for life.

Our design thinking
We wanted to illustrate the joy and butterflies you feel when you’ve found the one through our branding proposition. We embodied this through Vibrant colours, playful illustrations and the choice of font.
From a UI perspective, we wanted app users to feel safe, respected and comfortable enough to be themselves, so we ensured a clean and clear web flow. With the UX, we rethought the whole product and browsing interaction to increase matches and that initial conversation. We also introduced a suite of new features such as video calling. Shoreditch filled in those finishing touches to make Muzz a top-performing App.

The team at Shoreditch really embraced the love with our choices in colour palette, logo and icons to enhance Muzz’s incentives of a match that ends in marriage.
Since the rebrand by Shoreditch Studio, Muzz has staked its place as the top choice for Muslim singles. During our tenure as lead designers on the project, we saw the user base double in size and helped it gain popularity internationally.
